Paint spill in Hobart Rivulet

Friend of Hobart Rivulet Platypus Jenny Forward has reported a paint spill in the rivulet.

“A friend sent me this photo of what she thinks is paint in the Rivulet and she said that there were ducks who’s feet were covered in it. We’re now very worried about the platypus.”

Toxic spills in Summer when water flow is reduced to a trickle is a worst case scenario. Fortunately the spill appears to have dispersed quickly, and in this case occurred lower in the Rivulet where platypus have not been sighted for some time.

Both Hobart City Council and the EPA have been notified.

The platypuses say Thanks Jenny!
