Rolo had only been out of the nesting burrow for two days when this image was taken. He’s perhaps the sweetest platypus we’ve ever sat with.
Rolo made his acting debut in The Platypus Guardian, starring as the unnamed juvenile platypus that emerges and rolls around at the end of the documentary. He features in our upcoming documentary Becoming Platypus.
Name origin: He rolled around a lot as a juvenile!
