  • Real-world stories: We’ll share what we’ve learned from our many hours with platypuses in the wild.
  • Small Groups, Wild Discoveries: Groups are limited to just 8 people. Bring your platypus questions!

Our ‘Platypus No Show’ Policy

Platypus run to a schedule, it’s just not a human one! While we use every bit of our tracking experience to locate platypus, nature doesn’t always play along.

If we don’t see a platypus you’ll receive a “Second Chance” voucher. It lets you join another scheduled walk for free, or you can gift your voucher to a friend at no cost.

Changes & Cancellations

Need to cancel? Life happens! You can cancel your booking up to 24 hours before we start. To help cover non-refundable transaction fees, we retain a small 10% fee on refunds.

And if we cancel? If extreme weather or surprises pop up, we’ll reach out via text or email at least 2 hours before your booking. You’ll be able to choose between a full refund or a priority spot on a different day.

ABOUT YOUR GUIDE

Pete founded Hobart Rivulet Platypus in 2020, a community organization dedicated to the conservation of the city’s urban platypus population. His grassroots advocacy inspired the ABC/PBS docu-fiction The Platypus Guardian (2023).

Pete lives in South Hobart—just a short walk away from the Rivulet—with his partner Von and dog Loki, where he continues his work to ensure a future for the waterway’s wildlife.
