Looped litter: Reinforced plastic band
Outcome: Immediate release
Platycam alerted us to yet another platypus entangled in rubbish in the polluted Hobart Rivulet. Despite the rain, in less than an hour we were able to locate the platypus, remove the loop from around its body and release it back into the waterway.
The reinforced plastic ring most likely would have lead to a slow and painful death for this platypus.
