A huge thanks to John Prini, who noticed something off in video footage he’d taken and spent hours on the rivulet tracking the platypus down. Thanks to his persistence, we were able to safely remove a band entangled around its body.

Upgrades to the city tip outfall have significantly dropped entanglements, but yesterday showed there’s more work to do—especially closer to the CBD. Stray hair ties, rubber bands, and plastic rings are still making their way into the water.
